FAQ’S

Any questions? We’re here to help

What does “AfricaHackOn Vetted” mean?

It means you passed our multi-stage vetting: identity verification, a technical assessment (or review of practical work), and an admin skills review by our practitioner team. The badge appears on your profile once all checks pass.

How long does the vetting process take?

Typical vetting takes 3–14 days. Initial review usually within 48–72 hours. We notify you at each step by email. Complex cases or missing documentation can extend the timeline.

What do I need to submit for vetting?

You’ll typically provide: government ID (photo), a selfie for liveness check, your profile (skills, experience, projects), and optional CV. Some roles require a practical assessment or short technical interview.

What if I fail the vetting? Can I reapply?

Yes. We’ll share a brief reason and recommended next steps. Update your profile or address the specified items, then reapply. You’ll get guidance on how to improve before retrying.

Will my contact details be shared automatically with employers?

No. Contact details are hidden by default. Employers can request contact; you choose whether to share. You can also set contact visibility in your profile settings.

Can I remove my profile or data from the directory?
Yes. Use the account settings to deactivate your profile or contact support (support@africahackon.com ) to request deletion. Some historical vetting records may be retained for audit as stated in our Privacy Policy.
How do skill ratings work?

Reviewers rate each skill on a 1–5 scale. Ratings map to visible levels: Foundations, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert. Admins must add evidence for high ratings (4–5).

What types of roles will I be matched with?

Roles include SOC analyst, application security, cloud security, forensics, threat intelligence, offensive security, GRC, and specialized domains. Matches depend on your skills, level, location and availability.

How do I increase my visibility to employers?

Keep your profile up to date, earn badges (complete projects, pass advanced assessments), enable contact sharing, and request a featured spot or cohort spotlight through the dashboard.

How are candidates vetted?

Candidates pass identity verification, technical assessments or project reviews, and an admin skills rating by our practitioner reviewers. Only vetted profiles receive the AfricaHackOn Vetted badge.

How do I post a job?

Sign in as an employer, click Post a Job, fill role details (title, skills, level, location, work preference) and publish. We review posts within 24 hours for quality and compliance.

How are search results ranked?

Results are ranked by a combination of admin skill ratings, badge presence, skill-job match, availability, location match and recent profile activity. Admin rating and relevant badges have high weight.

What hiring plans and pricing do you offer?

We offer Starter (SME), Growth, and Enterprise tiers. Features vary (number of posts, shortlist requests, dedicated account manager). Contact sales for current pricing and enterprise SLAs.

Can you source candidates for niche specializations (e.g., OT/ICS, malware analysis)?

Yes. We maintain filters and cohorts for specialized domains. For rare skills, use Request shortlist and we’ll curate candidates or advise on training/coaching options.
