George Ndungu

About me

I am a cybersecurity engineer with a foundation in computer science and hands-on experience in penetration testing, malware analysis, and threat detection. I am passionate about helping organizations secure their digital infrastructure by working on real problems, building on what I learn, and applying that knowledge to strengthen defenses.

As a cybersecurity researcher and active CTF player, I enjoy exploring real-world vulnerabilities, reversing malicious applications, and applying hands-on techniques to strengthen my skills. These challenges keep me grounded in how attackers think and how defenders should respond.

Work Experience

Cybersecurity Associate
PwC 2026-02-02 - Present I support cybersecurity engagements in risk assessments, control evaluations, and vulnerability identification across client environments. I also contribute to security testing, documentation of findings, and remediation recommendations to strengthen clients’ security posture and compliance alignment.
CTF Player and Team Captain
st3althm0de 2025-03-01 - Present I lead and manage a cybersecurity community on Discord where learners and professionals collaborate on CTF challenges, share knowledge, and support each other’s growth. In this role, I help coordinate activities, guide discussions, and maintain an environment focused on learning and practical skill-building. Alongside community management, I work on reverse engineering challenges using tools such as Ghidra and IDA, analyzing binaries and malware samples to understand their behavior and identify potential vulnerabilities. This hands-on work strengthens my technical abilities while allowing me to contribute meaningfully to the community.
Cybersecurity Instructor
Funlings 2023-06-01 - 2025-12-31 At Funlings Entertainment, I mentor students in cybersecurity and programming, teaching core concepts in a small class setting. I guide them through practical exercises in secure coding, basic network security, and problem-solving. I also support their projects by helping with debugging, conducting research, and giving structured feedback so they can build real, hands-on skills in both cybersecurity and programming.
Cybersecurity Podcast Host
Shield Cast 2023-06-01 - 2025-01-01 As the host of the Shield Cast Podcast, I led discussions on cybersecurity trends, threat analysis, and defensive practices. I researched technical topics, prepared scripts, and conveyed complex ideas in a simple and engaging manner. I also supported episode production and promotion, helping grow the podcast’s reach while maintaining consistent, high-quality content.
